DSIP opens Day 2

Emideltide free base and emideltide acetate lead the July 24 PCAC peptide agenda, with opioid withdrawal, chronic insomnia, and narcolepsy in the FDA review.

Emideltide—better known as delta sleep-inducing peptide, or DSIP—opens the second day of FDA's July 2026 PCAC meeting.

The committee will vote separately on emideltide free base and emideltide acetate for the Section 503A Bulks List.

Why emideltide is called DSIP

Emideltide is a nine-amino-acid peptide. The DSIP name comes from its relationship to delta-rhythm sleep, the deep-sleep pattern that gave the peptide its enduring identity.

That makes emideltide one of the most immediately recognizable Day 2 peptides for people following sleep and recovery research.

What FDA reviewed for emideltide

FDA's briefing package evaluates emideltide free base and emideltide acetate across three uses:

  • Chronic insomnia
  • Narcolepsy
  • Opioid withdrawal

The reviewed compounding proposal uses subcutaneous injection at a concentration of 1,000 mcg/mL, or 1 mg/mL.

The two DSIP PCAC questions

PCAC will answer one question for emideltide free base and one for emideltide acetate. A favorable recommendation would move each form forward for consideration on the 503A Bulks List.

The format mirrors the Day 1 questions that produced favorable results for BPC-157, KPV, and TB-500.
