The 6–7–1 result is an unfavorable recommendation on the nominated emideltide forms. It is not FDA approval, and it does not itself ban emideltide or immediately change the Section 503A Bulks List.
Why emideltide is called DSIP
Emideltide is a nine-amino-acid peptide. The DSIP name comes from its relationship to delta-rhythm sleep, the deep-sleep pattern that gave the peptide its enduring identity.
That makes emideltide one of the most immediately recognizable Day 2 peptides for people following sleep and recovery research.
What FDA reviewed for emideltide
FDA's briefing package evaluates emideltide free base and emideltide acetate across three uses:
- Chronic insomnia
- Narcolepsy
- Opioid withdrawal
The reviewed compounding proposal uses subcutaneous injection at a concentration of 1,000 mcg/mL, or 1 mg/mL.
