PCAC considered BPC-157 in two forms. The free-base question received 8 yes votes, 6 no votes, and 1 abstention. The acetate question delivered the same 8–6–1 result.
That meant two favorable recommendations for BPC-157 and one of the clearest wins of the July 2026 PCAC meeting.
Why the July 2026 PCAC meeting matters
PCAC was considering whether each nominated bulk drug substance should be included on the Section 503A Bulks List. Inclusion would create a federal route for qualifying 503A pharmacies to compound patient-specific prescriptions using the listed bulk drug substance.
BPC-157's back-to-back favorable votes put real momentum behind that route. KPV and TB-500 added favorable results of their own, making July 23 a major day for peptide compounding.
