When desire goes quiet

You still love them. You just stopped wanting sex.

PT-141 acts in the brain on desire and arousal, the part before touch.

01

“I love my partner. I just never think about sex anymore.”

Low desire can disappear long before affection does.

02

“Once things start, I enjoy it. Getting there feels impossible.”

PT-141 acts on brain signaling involved in desire and arousal—the part before touch.

03

“I want desire—not just lubrication.”

Blood flow handles the physical response. PT-141 targets the desire that comes first.

What the pivotal trials measured

1,267

Premenopausal women randomized across two phase 3 trials.

For 24 weeks, the RECONNECT studies compared 1.75 mg injected bremelanotide with placebo. They measured change in desire and distress related to low desire.

Two actives, one tablet

Desire and closeness in one small tablet.

PT-141 acts on desire. Oxytocin is the hormone of closeness. In a 2014 placebo-controlled study of 29 couples, intranasal oxytocin raised orgasm intensity and contentment after sex. No trial has tested the two together in a sublingual tablet. Your prescription label will list the timing and storage.

Bremelanotide injection safety

Not for uncontrolled high blood pressure or cardiovascular disease.

The FDA-approved injection is contraindicated in uncontrolled hypertension or known cardiovascular disease. Its label also addresses temporary blood-pressure increases, heart-rate reduction, nausea, focal hyperpigmentation, pregnancy, delayed gastric emptying, and oral naltrexone.

The tablet also contains oxytocin. Headache, nausea, and temporary changes in blood pressure are side effects listed for it. Oxytocin can make the uterus contract, so do not use the tablet if you are or could be pregnant.
