When desire goes quiet

You can feel close to someone and still miss the part of you that initiates.

01

Affection can stay while desire fades

Low desire can feel disconnected from an otherwise close relationship.

02

One nasal study exists

A small crossover study tested one 20 mg intranasal dose in 18 premenopausal women.

03

The pump sets each dose

Concentration and metered pump output determine how much medication each spray delivers.

What the pivotal trials measured

1,267

Premenopausal women randomized across two phase 3 trials.

For 24 weeks, the RECONNECT studies compared 1.75 mg subcutaneous bremelanotide with placebo. They measured change in desire and distress related to low desire.

The dose starts with the pump

The pump turns concentration into a measured dose.

A 5 mL bottle can be labeled 5 mg/mL or 10 mg/mL, but sprays per dose require the pump’s metered output. The prescription label will pair concentration with volume per actuation, sprays, timing, and maximum frequency.

Bremelanotide injection safety

Not for uncontrolled high blood pressure or cardiovascular disease.

The FDA-approved injection is contraindicated in uncontrolled hypertension or known cardiovascular disease. Its label also addresses temporary blood-pressure increases, heart-rate reduction, nausea, focal hyperpigmentation, pregnancy, delayed gastric emptying, and oral naltrexone.
